My collections

I love mail. I love letters, cards, and especially postcards. Since my birthday is in December, I really get to rack up the cards. Here is a simple and fun scan of all the Sabrinas from the envelopes. If you sent me a card, it might be here.

I'm back!

Yes, I have some Sabrina to share with the world. Here is something to get you going until I post the other 4 cards that I've been sitting on for a while. (Year? More? Sigh.)

This is the name place card that my new Japanese cousin, Yoko, made for the rehearsal dinner for her and my cousin's wedding in Los Angeles. It says Sabrina on one side in English, and in Japanese on the other. I scanned it flat, but have some pictures of what it looked like. She does beautiful handmade fabric jewelry that has been sold at Anthropologie! Check out her art and jewelry here.

Hello 2010!

Well, hello there!

I must apologize for not giving this bog my attention for the past 9 months. I have been hoarding a few cards away (which I will unveil this week) along with some other Sabrina collections.

To explain, I was unemployed last summer and started working again for a non-profit called Heroic Media in August. I was the development assistant for 4 months and then was hired on full time and permanent as the executive assistant. I have a grand deep passion for the work I do there, even if it is not always design. I did help them with a logo change adjustment, and was able to redesign their marketing materials and website. I have been getting situated with working again and have found my way back to design after a small rest. I hope to begin freelancing a bit soon to supplement my income.

If you're reading this blog again, thanks and welcome back! If you're new, then you have some catching up to do. :)

Love, Sabrina

Card 20 | Benjamin R. Thompson

Hoooray! 20 Cards!

This card comes from Ben Thompson, the creative director of Studiofluid - a branding and web design company in Los Angeles, CA. Go check them out!

I love this pencil work. I think we designers forget how awesome a pencil can be. Thanks, Ben!

Card 19 | Jordan Minton

Sorry folks! It has been a while. This card came a while back, but got buried in my desk. I am sure this has happened to you before. (yes, I mean you!)

Jordan Minton is a recent graduate of my alma mater, Texas State University - San Marcos. The Communication Design program there is incredible, and they are excited about their new MFA program for people who want to turn around and become awesome teachers. Jordan is active with AIGA Austin and is already out in the real world.

Jordan's card is really neat. Not only is it painted and inked, but it is cut out so the name and cat pop out. I took a photo that shows how it works. Little does he know, that even though I am not witchy, I do love cats. Thanks Jordan!

Sabrina at the Beach!

My friend bought this for me when she was in Florida. While they are cheesy, I rarely find my name on anything, so I loved it!

I like the seagull with sunnies.

Card 18 | Codie Smith

I met Codie at Design Ranch and we've been playing all over facebook ever since. He told me he "cheated" by throwing my last name in, but I reminded him that there are no rules!

He like others, seemed to be glad to be drawing again. I don't even know how he got that brilliant color. It makes the cool hand drawn lettering just pop off the page. Thanks Codie!
