Card 20 | Benjamin R. Thompson

Hoooray! 20 Cards!

This card comes from Ben Thompson, the creative director of Studiofluid - a branding and web design company in Los Angeles, CA. Go check them out!

I love this pencil work. I think we designers forget how awesome a pencil can be. Thanks, Ben!

Card 19 | Jordan Minton

Sorry folks! It has been a while. This card came a while back, but got buried in my desk. I am sure this has happened to you before. (yes, I mean you!)

Jordan Minton is a recent graduate of my alma mater, Texas State University - San Marcos. The Communication Design program there is incredible, and they are excited about their new MFA program for people who want to turn around and become awesome teachers. Jordan is active with AIGA Austin and is already out in the real world.

Jordan's card is really neat. Not only is it painted and inked, but it is cut out so the name and cat pop out. I took a photo that shows how it works. Little does he know, that even though I am not witchy, I do love cats. Thanks Jordan!

Sabrina at the Beach!

My friend bought this for me when she was in Florida. While they are cheesy, I rarely find my name on anything, so I loved it!

I like the seagull with sunnies.

Card 18 | Codie Smith

I met Codie at Design Ranch and we've been playing all over facebook ever since. He told me he "cheated" by throwing my last name in, but I reminded him that there are no rules!

He like others, seemed to be glad to be drawing again. I don't even know how he got that brilliant color. It makes the cool hand drawn lettering just pop off the page. Thanks Codie!

Card 17 | Sean Carnegie

Look at this!

Sean Carnegie works as a principal in Austin, TX at LewisCarnegie. I had the opportunity to meet him when I involved myself with AIGA Austin as a student. Now I have been able to hang out with him and lots of AIGA Austin folk at the recent Design Ranch.

He told me that the postal service was giving him a hard time sending the postcard, but it got to me. I like to call the stamps flag-flag-kiwi, and it cracks me up. Notice that there is a card actually stapled to the postcard. I am glad that it didn't get lost. It's hard to portray with the scan, but when you tilt the card, you can see some additional markings in the light. I think the plasticity of that paint created an unexpected semi-gloss finish. Yeah!

Card 16 | Kristofer Delaney

Card 16 is from good old NYC!

Kristofer Delaney works at Ogilvy & Mather, a prestigious company that prides itself on building brands.

I am not sure why salt is considered good luck, but I appreciate it nonetheless and the two-headed dog is pretty awesome. I wonder if that picture is Kristofer. I also liked the huge envelope it came in. I couldn't just ignore that. Something about a sharpie that is just neat.

Card 15 | Jeff Caldwell

I sent about half my cards to California and always receive awesome work.

I found Jeff Caldwell from a list of people involved with John Bielenberg's Project M, and noticed that he is the main guy in a company called The Vega Project. Well, now I know that this is a project based off "Sabrina" I couldn't help but take note of a company with my last name in the title.

Now what is funny, is that if you compare this to John Bielenberg's card on this site, it looks like these guys both like a fine tip ink pen for their doodles. Ha.
